CLUTCHES

High-performance Ferodo clutches are made of cellulose and aramid fibres, graphite and carbon. The material has unique characteristics that provides excellent performance even during the most severe use.
A grooved design facilitates cooling and the passage of the oil.
The racing versions guarantee a high heat resistance, greater durability and less compressibility as well as a more constant coefficient of friction.

CLUTCH BEDDING

Before fitting the clutch, it is recommended to leave the friction plates in an oil bath (with the oil that will be used in replacing the clutch) for at least 4 hours. We recommend heating the vehicle’s engine at standstill with the first gear engaged by fully depressing the clutch lever.  With the engine warm start with a low speed to maintain a low to medium engine RPM and increment the gears up to the top gear and then back down to the lowest gear. Repeat this at least three times.

Before racing, perform a further bed-in with a maximum speed not exceeding 70% of the normal race speeds over a couple of laps involving a series of gear changes. This will ensure good mating between the mechanical parts.
