Despite his comfortable 22-point lead going into the final round of the championship Red Bull KTM’s Cooper Webb didn’t play it safe at Salt Lake City. Making it a perfect night for the team Webb delivered his eighth victory of the season ahead of teammate Marvin Musquin. What better way to end a season than with back-to-back 1-2 podium sweeps in the final two races aboard their MOTOREX-lubricated KTM 450 SX-F and an undisputed second title for Webb.

Confirming MOTOREX’ position as Nr. 1 lubricant brand when it comes to Supercross Racing, MOTOREX-backed riders have taken the prestigious AMA Supercross 450SX title on six occasions from the last seven seasons, along with one closely fought runner-up result.

In their historic first Supercross season The TLD/GASGAS Factory Team had also reason to celebrate with Justin Barcia rounds out the 450SX championship in a strong 4th position aboard his MOTOREX-maintained MC 450F while Michael Mosiman finished an equally strong 5th in the 250SX East series.

Also a 5th place finish was delivered for Rockstar Energy Husqvarna in the 250SX West series by Jalek Swoll while Jason Anderson was the team’s top finisher in 8th aboard his MOTOREX-lubricated FC 450 after a challenging season.

Cooper Webb: “It’s been a heck of a year with everything in the world going on, but we dug deep this year and stayed the course. It’s been an incredible journey, a hard-fought season with a lot of hard races but this is all worth it right here. Being a two-time champion is incredible and to get the win tonight is the cherry on top. I’m speechless, this is incredible.”

The night was going pretty good – practice was alright, the heat race was a good result even though I didn’t feel like I rode the best and then the Main Event didn’t go so well,” Anderson said.

Barcia: I felt good all day and was comfortable on the bike and the track, but finishing seventh wasn’t the way I wanted to end the season. All-in-all it was a solid year, I ended up fourth in the championship. Next year we’ll have some improvements to make but for the first Supercross season with the team, it was really enjoyable and fun and we have a lot more to show for next year, so we’ll keep on plugging along!”
