Product FAQs
What’s the difference between Standard, Upgrade and Xtreme Chain & Sprocket Kits?

The standard kit is equal to an OE grade of chain and sprockets, the Upgrade is a better grade than OE grade, and Xtreme is the ‘best’ grade – better than both OE and Upgrade kits.

Can I fit a Sprocket or Chain & Sprocket Kit myself?

We recommended a professional fits chain and sprocket kits - this will ensure it is correctly fitted, which increase longevity and meets the terms of the products warranty.

Use our Stockist Finder to find dealers that may offer professional fitting services.

Can I change the ratio on the chain and sprocket kit?

Yes, you can customise selected chain kits to adjust the sprockets to a lower or higher number of teeth which affects the ratios. HOWEVER, be aware this can lead to speedo inaccuracies and performance differences through the gears. It is your responsibility to ensure that what you select – is suitable and safe for the machine it will fit to.
For further information see the notes at the base of the chain and sprocket kit customisation page.

What are the differences between the chain ring seal types?

The chain seal types are summarised below:

  • NS - Non-sealed
  • O - Standard O-Ring seal
  • RX / Active Ring (X-Ring) - Double barrier, Better Chain Life
  • XW (Preimum X-Ring) - Triple Barrier, Best Chain Life
  • U - Ultra Thin (0.8mm), Lightest Chain Weight
  • UW - Ultra Thin with Triple Barrier, Improved Chain Life Over "U"
